Ask Bruno: To Replace or Repair.

Should I repair or replace my roof?

If your roof is in need of repair, the entire roof system may be compromised. Of course there are always weather events causing high winds and fallen trees which may blow off shingles or damage an area and this can be a quick easy fix. But if your roof has not been replaced in many years, is showing signs of wear and tear, or has a leak, it may be time to get a new roof instead of trying to fix it and hope for the best. Repairs can cost more in the long term as you will need to pay for the repair and replacement in a couple years. They may also create more damage as the real problem is not located and handled such as poor insulation, water draining improperly, ice damming, rotted wood under the shingles, animal damage or taking up residence in the roof or attic, improper ventilation, a poor quality installation or materials used, etc. We cannot give a workmanship guarantee on a repair because we don’t know what the workmanship and situation is on the rest of the roof and underneath. You may pay for the repair and still need a full replacement in the near future.

Top Roofers has years of experience, positive reviews from customers, warranties on full roof replacements and WSIB. We always provide a detailed written estimate before work begins. We won’t be the cheapest option but the quality in materials and workmanship provides peace of mind that the roof over your head will last for years.
